Jerk Pork Loin and Grilled Cheese
Feb. 17th, 2009 | 09:59 pm

This wimpy excuse for a lunch is jerk pork loin and grilled cheese. I requested another grilled cheese, but they regretfully inform me that I have to finish my plate and must return later for seconds. "Seconds? This is not even considered a half!" I thought to myself.
The jerk pork loin was so forgettable that I do not remember what it tasted like. I might have used ketchup in attempt to salvage the puny pieces of meat they served me. Wait, it was meat, right?
Eaten with a side bowl of cream of potato soup obliterated with tons of pepper and salt. So much so that it tasted as if I was eating cream of peppercorn and salt.
Downed with a glass of nothing because my roommate called to inform me that he has locked himself out of our rooms and he was going to be late. So, I had to down my soup as fast as I could and run all the way from the chow hall to our barracks to let him in.
He owes me one.

BBQ Brisket and Cheese Macaroni
Feb. 17th, 2009 | 09:56 pm

It was actually quite decent. Delicious, even.
The BBQ brisket was the right kind of chewy. It neither feel nor taste like rubber and the macaroni was palatable.

Salisbury Steak and Potatoes
Feb. 2nd, 2009 | 09:52 pm

Lunch was Salisbury steak with two kinds of potatoes: mashed and baked.
Baked potato was drenched in what appears to be nacho cheese and then improved by bacon bits. Like the one you use for salads. They were not going for subtlety here. It was bacon bits, or else. So much so that my baked potato was suffocating in it. The overpowering aroma of bacon and the nacho cheese conspired to overwhelm the taste of the potato to the point that it felt like I was eating just bacon bits and cheese. Which, of course, I was. Ever ate bacon bits by the spoonful? It is like eating bacon-flavored gravel. And my baked potato was covered in it.
The mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. If cardboard was food, it would taste like the mashed potatoes pictured above. Covered in gravy. And ketchup.
The steak was decent. Drenched in brown gravy and ketchup. Yum.
Two glasses of Powerade completed the meal.
